The construction of a new highway to Shusha is being continued. The construction work is being carried out on the basis of a project developed on the new route, starting from Fuzuli, "Azeravtoyol” Open Joint Stock Company told Ann.az.
The new route will be built bypassing large settlements, as well as the famous Topkhana forest.
According to the new project, the length of the road will be reduced to 17 km due to bridges and tunnels to be built in areas with difficult terrain and will be 84.6 km.
According to preliminary calculation, the total length of the tunnels will be about 3 km.
In addition, it is planned to build road junctions of different levels on the new route.
A service road with a width of 2 lanes on the 101.5 km route to Shusha has already been put into operation.
