Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill has called on the parties to continue the dialogue regarding the tense on Armenia-Azerbaijan border, the statement of Patriarch Kirill in this regard has been placed in the website of Russian Orthodox Church, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

In the statement of Patriarch Kirill was reminded that an armed clash occurred on July 12 on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, which resulted in casualties on both sides. "Today, the Russian Orthodox Church calls on both sides of the conflict for dialogue. I urge you not to follow the powers which in favor of escalating tensions in the Caucasus. A new war in the Caucasus will attract all kinds of terrorists and extremists which will deprive the region from peace and tranquility.

Patriarch Kirill noted in the statement that the religious communities gained experience in building much-needed dialogue.

Patriarch Kirill reminded the declaration of religious leaders on September 8 2017 reflected that peoples of Armenia and Azerbaijan will always live side by side.

For this reason, it was noted that they have no prospects but peace and cooperation.

"The Russian Orthodox Church is praying for an immediate end to the conflict. We hope that brotherly peoples of Armenia and Azerbaijan will put an end to hostilities, reduce the level of disbelief, and find the strength and wisdom to achieve a mutually acceptable solution to the divided problems.
