Gul says Azerbaijan will regain its Armenian-occupied land
Turkey believes that Azerbaijan will one day regain control of its Armenian-occupied territory, Turkish President Abdullah Gul said, underlining the importance of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity in a joint press conference with Azeri President Ilham Aliyev in Ankara on Tuesday.
"Turkey gives utmost importance to Azerbaijan's territorial integrity," he said.
Gul said he and Aliyev took up regional issues and bilateral relations, stressing the importance of gas, energy and transportation issues. He said investments in both countries are crucial for bilateral relations.
The Turkish leader also congratulated Aliyev on his re-election in the Oct. 9 presidential election.
"In the last six years, this is the seventh meeting of Turkish and Azeri presidents," Gul said.
Aliyev said his country is getting stronger with the help of Turkey. He said he expected serious steps to be taken on Karabakh in a few months.
