"The first exhumation work has been carried out in the Dashalti village, liberated from the occupation, by the relative bodies. Note that 44 Azerbaijani citizens, went missing during the unsuccessful Dashalti operation carried out on January 26, 1992, has been registered in the State Commission," head of the Working Group of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons, Ismayil Akhundov said in an interview with APA.

He noted that the relevant research-investigation work has been carried out in the Dashalti village in February of the previous year and a grave that is said to belong to Azerbaijani citizens who died during the operation and buried, has been identified and exhumation has been carried out there: "Body remains that were found in the Dashalti village during the exhumation, has been presented to Scientific and Experimental and Educational Association of Forensic Medical Examination and Pathological Anatomy of the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan for DNA sampling. After removing appropriate profiles from DNA samples taken from the body remains, identification work will be started".
