The dissemination of information regarding staff changes, personnel rotations, personnel reforms and other information about the Army in a distorted manner and without reference to the official information of the Ministry of Defense in some media and social networks is a matter of serious regret and concern, Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan told Ann.az.
In general, information such as the transfer of personnel, especially senior officers, can be considered a military-state secret.
Dissemination of such information about the victorious Army, which won the Patriotic War under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, without referring to the official information of the Ministry of Defense or becoming an object of unfounded discussion on social networks have a negative impact on the organization of our Army's daily activities and may endanger the lives of our servicemen in operational conditions.
Such cases also serve to inform the Armenian special service bodies, to facilitate their disinformation and "fake news" operations against our Army.
We highly evaluate the support of professional, responsible, and patriotic Azerbaijani mass media to our Army always and especially during the Patriotic war.
So, we call on some media representatives and social network users, under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, to be active in preventing information provocations and the circulation of information that could damage the unity of the People-Army under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, and to support the Army based on the principle of civil responsibility.
