Azerbaijani MIA: Information about abolishment of Traffic Police is far from truth
Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Azerbaijan reacted to the reports circulating at the mass media resources regarding the abolishment of State Traffic Police department, APA reports.

Chief of press service of MIA, police colonel Ehsan Zahidov as a reply to APA’s survey stated that the reports are far from being true: "One of the functions and responsibilities of the police indicated that the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Police” is to control the compliance road traffic rules and security and take measures for provision of traffic security and these functions are implemented by State Traffic Police of MIA. Therefore, the abolishment of such important department hasn’t been in the agenda and currently is not as well. Contrary, Ministry is constantly carrying out important measures in order to improve the traffic police activities, increase efficiency and rising material technical base to the modern requirements”.

Note that, in the last days reports are spread on mass media about the abolishment of State Traffic Police department.
